Pakistan's First Baby Health Care Smartphone App

I have been working in medical field since last 12 years and i usually spend most of my time in study of research articles and initiatives taken by various independent, government owned or private organizations towards making new advancements in various areas related to human health. The most disappointing thing i ever feel is our insignificant contribution in the development and advancement of this field. You would agree that just like many other important sectors, health sector has also been victimized by our corrupt system. However, this is first time i heard a news about a really good and serious development in the field of child health.

I don't know much details but its a non-profit organization named as PAPHC who is actually working to educate women of Pakistan on various child health related issues through the use of technology. For this purpose, they have launched a Smartphone app which you can install on your Android based mobile phone and it helps you to manage vaccination of your child, keeps you aware of various child health related issues and gives access to hundreds of healthy food recipes for your baby. Good thing is that this app is absolutely free.

Go to Google Play store and search for "SmartMom Baby Care" app and you will find it.

If you read about the app on Google Play store, it says that they are also working to deliver following features in the app which is amazing:

1) Tips for mothers on various issues related to babies.
2) List of child doctors with their rating.
3) Order medicine through app for home delivery
4) Book appointment of a doctor using app.
5) A complete guide and chart to check if your baby is healthy and growing properly.
6) Baby Food Guide to assist parents in making a healthy diet plan for their babies and will also provide healthy food recipes.

The most interesting thing for me is their mission statement which is as follow:
"Saving life of every single child through the smart use of technology!"

As we know that we have millions of smartphone users in the country and it really makes sense to use this solid platform to outreach all over the country to educate people on health related issues and save many precious lives. Well done PAPHC!
